WELCOME TO MY CROCHET HAVEN!

The Beginnings

1 min read

Since I was a little girl, ways to make whimsical things seemed to find me but my passion for all things "crafty" was definitely fostered along the way by the kind adults in my life. A neighbor lady taught me to crochet when I was around 10, donating a larger crochet hook and pink yarn to fashion a doily for my mama. Since that day, I've been hooked on fiber of all kinds and stretched to numerous other mediums to express my creativity.

Over the years, opportunities to make things big and small have presented and I've bitten off more than I could chew a few times but I've always been glad for the learning curve and the pride of making original handmade things. I've been fortunate to have family and friends encourage me to share my art and work with others. All of my work has been made as gifts and given away to family and friends. I would be rich if I had a dollar for the number of times someone told me I should sell my work. I've resisted because I didn't want it to seem like "work" because I love it so much and I need to feel free.

Nowadays, I fill my retirement hours with crafting and fiber-working and then I ply my education in business to fill my store-front with items that have peaked my interest to handicraft. Some items on my shelves will never be made again, making them true one-of-a kind items. Other items I'm willing to take orders to make a preferred color or style. In all cases, it's fulfilling and rewarding to know the things I've made will find forever homes in the arms of adults and children alike. If you've found my store, Welcome! I'm not in it to make lots of money, just sharing what makes my heart beat for this little time I'm here.

God Bless, GMa
